About ME: My name is Cecily Lazenby, I studied a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and majored in painting. Having finished a Diploma in Graphic Design (Design & Multimedia) at Tasmanian Polytechnic last year, I'm now studying a Certificate IV in Visual Arts and Creative Crafts (Printmaking).

Most importantly I am a Christian. This is not something I can ignore and when you look at my work and read about how the concepts I use developed you will find that you can't ignore this either.

This week I have begun a course in printmaking at the Tasmanian Polytechnic (TAFE). I'm looking forward to learning new processes and creating images again. As much as I love design and the technical problem solving of the web, I much prefer to get up from my computer and get my hands dirty. God willing I will also start to paint again, and maybe even work using more than discipline: digital, oils, print, type, image. I am still facinated with exploring the idea of text as image vs. image as text, and I'm looking forward to concentrating on my own ideas, the natural environment and Biblical text.
